On Sunday I got up and had this crazy dream that was so real I had to wake Paul up and asked him where we were. He said home. When we woke up at 8 he asked me what the issue was last night. I had no idea I had told him that we were at Disney. That started the days events. We loaded the car and dropped the dog to daycare in an hour and half.
The kids confused and I reading a cooking magazine told them we were going to a special taping of the Paula Deen cooking show. Which I love. They are were angry about it. They wanted something fun. Part A going as planned. Trying to make hotel reservations with kids in the car was interesting. The hotel reservation people were fantastic while I spoke in code. They were very quick on code and answering my twisted questions. Apparently we aren't the first parent to pack up and go.
We stopped and saw Paul's dad on the way down. The kids loved it. I wasn't fond of his dog that they had to lock up because he was crazy and not nice to people. I do understand why they have him. They live in crappy section of town. They are looking to move but have to sell the trailer first. It's so bad they have to put up surveillance cameras. Needless to say we didn't stay very long. On to the hotel. Great sweet the kids had their own side with bunk beds and TV. We stay at the Holiday Inn Main Gate East. Highly recommend this hotel. The staff is great. They are off site but do offer free shuttle bus. If you are on a diet and trying to loose weight you can do it at Disney. I will talk about the food in my mamavation post next week. I am going to combine my last two weeks. Off to the hotel for bed.
We woke at 6 to get showered and downstairs for breakfast. It was really good. The kids were still pout thinking we were going to Paula's show ( sorry Paula we really do love you) so that was perfect. We get there and mind you the Mickey logo is everywhere. They still have no clue. We get to the gate and they see the castle all hell breaks loose. You would have thought from the screaming and hysterics we had beaten the kids. It was priceless! Unfortunately my batteries died before we got there unbeknown st to me. So we had to replace and I caught the parade with the video camera. I did get them with the still camera. I think it really caught up with them when they did the greeting at the front gates. Loved it. So much is forever etched in my mind.
The day began with a bang. First up we met the Fairy Godmother. Nathan greeted her with bippity bop pity boo. Loved it. I loved that you could just feel the magic of the place. All their dreams were coming true. They were pumped for the day after the Fairy the Godmother gave them magic fairy dust to help our time slow since we were there for one day. Off to ride the carousel and Snow White rides. While we were coming off the Mad hatter we found The Queen of Hearts and the White Rabbit. The boys ran and hugged the rabbit. It was so freaken cute.
We were off to ride Buzz Lightyear's ride and stitch's. Stitch's ride was a bit much more than we expected. It was really good but for kids with sensory issues should have asked about it first. Stitch goes crazy and burps churros. So Nasty smelling. It gets dark at times. He spits water and breaks a cell phone. Nate and Blake's first question was do we not have sprint tv now. Luckily he didn't spit on us.Paul and I enjoyed that ride not so much them. It didn't dampen the spirts. We had to take on Zorg for Buzz.
From there it was off to the speed track. It was so cool watching a elderly couple get out off the track when I noticed his button said he was celebrating his 80th birthday with Mickey. It was also their first visit. How cool is that? We had so much fun. We get in the car Nate and I, I know have whip lash. Word of advice to parents don't let your kids drive if they are looking over their shoulder for their father. Who by the way is in front of him!!! Oh brother.
After that it was time to go to Main St for parade one Drew Brees was there for the superbowl win. WOOT WOOT WOOT WOOT!! Saints WON!!! sorry I am not a colts fan or a manning fan for that fact.So we got up close to Drew. Pics are in hand for tomorrow. From there we went to the Haunted Mansion and the kids loved it. We also did Peter Pan. Fantastic. After that it was off for lunch. While we ate there were black birds stalking our food. We obliged their tweets with some fries. After all the Magic Kingdom is Where dreams come true. According to our Dr. Doolittle (nate) the birds wish was for a fry. After that We did Swiss family Robinson, Magic carpet ride and the Pirates of the Caribbean. We did the meet and greet with Princess Jasmine and Aladdin, my oldest bust out with she is Smokin hot. Thank you Paul for your choice of words. Though Aladdin was very easy on the eyes and sounded similar to the characters. They finally told us who the flying monkey was that eats my kids homework was, Silly me not to suspect Abu. Blake has a shirt that says flying monkeys ate my homework. Thank you Jasmine and Aladdin for filling us in on the culprit.
Our last ride was the train and the ferry back to the ticket center to meet our bus. I know I am leaving out things that we did but I am to tired to think of them. We had a fantastic day there. The kids loved every moment with them.
After kingdom we went to Downtown Disney with Pauls dad for dinner. We shopped and had dinner at Rain Forest Cafe. It was so good. Paul and I shared the chicken parm. Nate was so tired he passed out on the table.
So there is our trip to disney. It was whirl wind and we loved every magical moment.
